Guild Charter
Preface
This charter should be read and understood by all Guild members. If you have any questions or remarks do not hesitate to contact an Officer or the Guild Leader.
Mission Statement
Attica is a World of Warcraft Guild on the Greymane server. We are a casual family guild that works on character development for all levels. World of Warcraft is a game and meant for recreation and having fun should be everyone’s main goal. We strive to build a strong guild of friends and family where everyone can enjoy playing.
Guidelines
• It is expected that all members of the guild treat each other with respect and represent the guild with honor and pride. Members should also strive to treat non-guild members with respect as well. Causing grief for any player and talking badly about other guilds are offenses that will not be tolerated and may be subject to disciplinary action.
• Spamming general WoW channels (Zone General, Trade, Guild Recruitment, etc.) is strongly discouraged. If a member is found to be doing this, they are subject to disciplinary action.
• Only the Guild Leader has the ability to remove a member from the guild. This power is not to be used unilaterally, and no member of the guild will be removed by the Guild Leader without prior warning and without the consent of the Officers.
- Addendum 3/30/08: If you do not log in for 3 months you are subject to removal from the guild. The 'last-login' status will be reviewed monthly by the Officers and Guild Leader. Exceptions: if known RL issues that are keeping you from the game and you let an Officer or Guild Leader know and keep us informed of your status through the website.
• Continuous use of so-called ‘leet-speak’ is not encouraged. Please try to use standard words in the guild channel. Bad language is strongly discouraged. Excessive use of bad langauge can ultimately lead to disciplinary action up to removal from the guild. Also bear in mind that our members come from different backgrounds and all ages, races and sexes.
• It is not required that members give items away to other members rather than selling the item. We understand that players need gold for mounts, equipment, etc, but we do ask that if you acquire an item that someone in the guild can use, that you offer it to sell it to the guild mate first. It is also encouraged that you deal fairly with guild mates when selling or trading. You can also earn guild credit by sending items to the guild bank as described on the 'Guild Bank' tab.
• Cooperation is something we pride ourselves on, and we wish this tradition to continue. It is not expected higher level characters give up too much time to help out the lower level characters, however, help is always appreciated and reciprocated.
• Players are permitted to have alternate characters in the guild, and they will have the rank of Alternate or Officer-Alternate. All players are expected to have one main character, which should be communicated with the Guild Leader.
• The "peak hours" of Attica are currently described as weeknights between 6:30pm and 9:00pm server time. During this time, it is strongly encouraged for all members to work with other members on their main characters so that the guild will continue to progress. "Peak hours" are not currently set for weekends, given the varying schedules of our members during that time.
Progression
Our current focuses are:
• To develop players in the guild who are not yet Level 80.
• To prepare players that are Level 80 for the more difficult instances and intro raids, namely the 5-man heroics and 10-man Naxxramas.
• To prepare those players that are more advanced for the higher level content beyond Naxxramas.
Communication
• It is strongly encouraged for all members to use the forums. It should be used to tell fellow guild members about your game experiences, to post screenshots, to share information about classes, and to check for news from the Guild Leader, Officers, or others.
• We expect our members to adhere to the forum rules: Be nice, Be helpful and Stay on Topic. The forum moderators have full authority to remove any questionable posts and those will be brought up to the Guild Leader and Officers for review.
• We use Ventrilo so we can talk with other guild members while in game. This speeds up playing and increases the success of instance runs. To use Ventrilo you the Ventrilo client which can be downloaded at www.ventrilo.com . If you don't have a microphone to talk, that's ok, but at least you'll be able to hear instructions from raid leaders and at least type your $0.02 in the appropriate chat channel. The Vent server information will be provided by an officer once membership has been established.
Guild Events, Instance Runs, and Raids
• The Attica web site calendar is currently being used for the purpose of scheduling instance runs and other events. If a member agrees to come to an event and is unable to do so we ask that you do your best to inform someone as soon a possible so that a replacement can be found.
• If you are attending a guild event or raid, please be on time and be prepared for the run (full repairs, reagents, potions, consumables, etc.). If you are late, your spot in the event will be given to another person who is available. Recurring tardiness will result in losing first priority on runs until it is resolved in the eyes of the Officers and Guild Leader.
• Raids will be reviewed by the Guild Leader. To be eligible for a Raid event you have to register with your availability and appropriate stats for your character to be considered on the website. If you meet the minimum requirements your status will be updated on the website to allow you to sign-up for any raid events that are posted on the calendar.
Partying Raids and Instances
• Agree to a leader. The leader is the one who organizes the run as it progresses and will be responsible for resolving disputes within the run.
• It is expected that all members of a party involving guild members behave in the spirit of the game.
• Members are expected not to pick unnecessary fights with people from outside the guild. However, should the behavior of an external person in a party/raid be utterly intolerable (e.g. ninja-looting, verbal abuse), all members are encouraged to stick together, and, if appropriate, to warn the guild as a whole against these persons. Communicate to the Guild Leader or Officer so that appropriate actions can be taken up with the offending parties guild leadership.
Loot Rules
• Attica does not use a DKP system for loot. Master Looter will generally be used on Raids with a .
The following guidelines should be adhered to when running instances in-guild (unless discussed and agreed upon by all group members beforehand):
-
- Items of Green quality which are Bind on Equip (BoE) be Greed rolled, if applicable. If a person can use the item, they should communicate their need with the rest of the group before rolling Need.
- Items of Blue quality should always be passed first. After all members pass, it should be discussed within the group who the item would most benefit. BoE items that are not an upgrade to anyone in the party can be sent to the guild bank toon Gunznrobesez.
- Items of Purple quality MUST always be passed on first. After all members pass, it should be discussed within the group who the item would most benefit - if you accept the item it is expected that you will immediately equip the item. BoE items that aren't an upgrade for anyone in the party can be sent to the guild bank toon Gunznrobesez.
- In the case of an instance run where two people of the same class can use the item: 1) each person needs to link their item currently equipped so the guild can provide to the person getting the biggest improvement, if stats are very close /roll should be used and the highest roll wins. 2) If one person is a main character and one is an alternate character, the main character should get first priority on the item. If the main character does not want it, then the alternate character has the option of taking the item. 3) Similarly to the main/alt scenario, a primary spec should get first priority over an off-spec.
- If no one in the party can use the item, the item should then be disenchanted and the materials will be deposited in the guild bank. If no enchanter is in the party, then everyone should roll for the right to sell it to a vendor.
- Combat looting is STRONGLY discouraged, as it can interfere with player’s interfaces and is generally disruptive during combat. Also, please wait for all members to be rezzed or back in the instance before looting.
- Ninja-looting is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Any notification of this action in any run will lead to immediate disciplinary action.
Resources
• If possible, let all people in a party skill up on resources (multiple players can level from the same vein) and share the actual resources gathered (taking turns).
• Tradeskill items which can be made without a cooldown should be traded at cost; if the materials are supplied the item will be free.
Disputes and Arguments Between Members
• We are all human and we will, at some point, disagree with each other. All arguments should be handled discretely. This means no spamming guild with insults, accusations etc. All arguments should be taking to private channels (email, PM's, /w, /p) as soon as possible. If a problem can not be resolved between members, please bring it to the attention of the Guild Leader or Officers as soon as possible.
• Under no circumstances are arguments to be carried on using the Forums. This causes more problems between Members and makes the guild look bad. The same rule applies on Ventrilo or any other place where the disagreement can be viewed publicly.
• Where possible, the Guild Leader and officers have the final word in any dispute between Members.
Unforseen Amendments
The Guild reserves the right to change the contents of the Charter at anytime it is deemed necessary to do so. Agreement between the Officers and Guild Leader is sufficient for such changes.
Respectfully,
The Guild Leader and Officers of Attica
